چکیده

Methods At our Institute, 122 patients with ACS were surgically revascularized using extracorporeal circulation in the first 10 days after the coronarography by one surgical team in the 5 years period. Patients were stratified into two groups: 65 patients operated within 4 days (group 1), and 57 patients operated from 5-Th to 10-Th day after the clopidogrel discontinuation (group 2). Patients who underwent reoperation, combined procedures, or offpump revascularization were excluded.

The Effect of Primary Angioplasty and Drug Therapy in Elderly Patients with Acute Coronary Syndrome

Background & Aims: The aging of the population has caused an increase in the number of elderly people who receive treatment for cardiovascular disease. The prevalence of coronary artery disease is higher in the elderly, and on the other hand, complications after cardiac events are worse in the elderly. The most common cause of death in the elderly is cardiovascular disease. Rapid restoration of...

مقایسه تأثیر هپارین با وزن مولکولی پایین با هپارین غیرفراکشنه در درمان بیماران مبتلا به سندرم کرونری حاد بدون بالا رفتن قطعه ST : کارآزمایی بالینی تصادفی

Background: Despite the overwhelming progress that has been accomplished in the prevention of mortality due to cardiovascular disease, coronary artery disease (CAD) is the leading cause of death in the world. The aim of this study was to compare of the effects of enoxaparin versus unfractionated heparin (UFH) on major clinical events, including mortality, myocardial infarction (MI), and recurren...

Appropriate timing of surgical intervention after transmural acute myocardial infarction.

OBJECTIVE Recommended timing of coronary revascularization after transmural acute myocardial infarction ranges from immediate surgical intervention to repair 4 weeks after infarction. Such wide variation has created a dilemma in the management of these patients. The objective of this study was to delineate the optimal timing of revascularization after transmural acute myocardial infarction in a...

Surgical versus percutaneous coronary revascularization for multivessel disease in diabetic patients with non-ST-segment-elevation acute coronary syndrome: analysis from the Acute Catheterization and Early Intervention Triage Strategy trial.

BACKGROUND The preferred revascularization strategy for diabetic patients with acute coronary syndromes and multivessel coronary artery disease is uncertain. We evaluated the outcomes of diabetic patients with moderate and high-risk acute coronary syndrome and multivessel disease managed with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) versus coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). METHODS AND R...

Minimally invasive surgical techniques in the era of hybrid coronary revascularization: additional benefits for the elderly patients?

Geriatric patients affected by stable multi-vessel coronary artery disease (CAD) are at the crossroad: they can live with the risks of acute coronary syndrome, malignant arrhythmias or heart failure, or they can undergo a rapid evaluation for myocardial revascularization. It might be a common thought that the risks inherent the revascularization procedure outnumber the perceivable benefits in o...
